How to rise from a chair during pregnancy
On this page I will show you the best and an easy way to rise from a chair, couch or bed. Because of your growing belly the abdominal muscles function less and less. By using the strong quadriceps muscles you will rise a lot easier. You can also have a look at the video at the bottom of the page.
Give it a try!
1. Put your feet hip width apart, flat on the ground and close to the chair
2. Slide forward to the edge of the chair as much as possible (if your weight is too far back, it is a lot more difficult to get up)
3. Lean forward and put your hands on your thighs.
4. Push with your legs to standing.
!!Sitting down is the same, just the other way around!!
Tip for if you want to rise from a swivel chair. Turn the chair round with the back against your desk. This prevents it from rolling away. You don’t need to use the armrests to get up. If you use them you are leaning too far backwards. This way it is more difficult to get up. Arm rest are only for your arms to rest on
